The Francesco Cilea Theatre is the main municipal opera house of Reggio Calabria and the largest theatre in Calabria, seating around 1,500. Rebuilt after the 1908 earthquake and inaugurated in 1931, it features a 19th century horseshoe-shaped hall with three tiers of boxes, a gallery and a central royal box.
