Opened in 1909 and overlooking Piazza XV Marzo in the old town, the Teatro Alfonso Rendano is Cosenza's opera house, recognised as a Teatro di Tradizione since 1976. The horseshoe-shaped hall seats around 800 across stalls, three tiers of boxes and a gallery, with a large stage suited to opera, concerts and ceremonies.
