Avellino's main theatre, named after the madrigalist Carlo Gesualdo, Prince of Venosa. Inaugurated in 2002 to a design by Carlo Aymonino, it has an oval-plan auditorium with seventeen boxes, seating up to around 1,200, with acoustics among the best in Italy.
